Passing of the Torch
At the Passing of the Torch, we will celebrate the retirement and legacy of Dick and Jeanne Roy while launching the Eco-School Network as a nonprofit organization.

Cocktail reception, silent auction, and live music
Plated dinner, wine, and dessert

The program will honor the Roys legacy and organizations they founded while celebrating the Eco-school Network launch with childrens voices of hope and empowerment.  Join us in passing the torch to inspire Oregon children and their school communities.

At Cannon Beach 25 years ago, Dick and Jeanne Roy made a  commitment to work together as full-time, unpaid agents of change. Touching the lives of thousands, they have founded and led nonprofits including Northwest Earth Institute, Chess for Success, Master Recycler Program, Oregon Natural Step Network, Portlanders for Outdoor School, and Center for Earth Leadership.

After incubating the Eco-School Network for nine years, the Network is now becoming an independent nonprofit with new leadership. Through free training, the Network equips parents to lead school communities in Oregon toward sustainability, helping children develop skills to preserve a healthy environment. This year our parents engaged 25,000 students in shrinking environmental footprints, enhancing health, and collaborating across districts.
